The house is wonderful - very beautiful rooms and a perfect terrace with a great view. Also the village is really nice and an excellent starting point for strolls and hikes, as well as for excursions to the nearby beaches. Our host Amalia was really great - very nice and helpful! We´d always come back to her and her house!

So all the other reviewers are right this is a fantastic place to stay. My advice is, if it matches your specification then do not hesitate snap it up. The Villa is as it appears in the pictures, it is a charming old stone house set on the side of a hill with the most amazing views. What is good about it? First the welcome, despite several changes in our arrival time Amalia accommodated us and had the house in a beautiful sate for our arrival, she even did extra shopping for us in advance because the shops were closed. The house is so well stocked; from kitchen gadgets to beach and bath towels if you wanted it, it was there. No need for a rush round the shops to buy loo roll, tea or clothes pegs, they were all to hand. There were so many lovely touches like fresh herbs, books and toys for children and organic bathroom products. If you are travelling with children or by plane I would strongly advise that you check what they have as it may seriously lighten your luggage and make your life easier to find that stair gate / game of Othello / coffee maker is already there. The hosts are so good they will even get things in, we asked for hula hoops and they arrived! Everything was spotlessly cleaned and well maintained, inside and out, the lovely guest towels and sheets made everything feel touched with a little luxury. The location is great for beaches and there is taverna in a very short distance from the Villa where you can eat in the later half of every week. See the very bottom of the review for a few local tips. The house and garden is comfortable as it is set on a mountain it is not massive, yet despite that there are so many different places to stop, relax, read a book, admire the view drink coffee or beer, I don’t feel we did it justice in only 2 weeks. What is bad about the house? Well the kitchen is a little small, but was never a problem for us, Greek mountain driving in the dark was a bit scary on arrival and it is hard enough to go home from holidays, going home from here was nearly impossible. If this property is the right size and location for you - grab it before someone else does.

Local tips: You can walk to the shops and 2 beaches by turning down the hill after the taverna past the goats. Hold to the path to get to the small local beach but pull off a little to the left following the red paint marks to get to the bakers and the Rivera resort and beach. The closest beach is super for swimming and has a changing cubicle and beach shower, but you would need to carry stuff down there if you want to sun bathe.

Rivera is a smart beach resort where you can use the various sun beds and facilities (clean loos) as long as you buy the occasional drink. We even swam from the closest beach to Rivera for a mojito and back quite easily.

If you drive to Kalo Nera then the bakery at the turn off to the town has the most amazing cakes and ice cream cake. If you are driving to beaches on the other side of Pelion and you are not used to driving in Greece PLEASE talk to Amalia about the access roads - some of the beaches are quiet and un-spoilt for a good reason. I hope that you enjoy this Villa as much as we did.

Upon arriving in the village of Ana gatzea, located on the outstandingly beautiful peninsula of Pelion, we are immediately taken by its´ genuine charm. Just a few minutes by foot to the nearest beach, surrounded by a breathtaking scenery of olive groves climbing the hills it really is something special. There is so much different things you can do on the peninsula. You can take a stroll through the beautiful olive groves, sunbathe, swim in the crystal clear water of the sea, visit local villages and cultural landmarks, eat at the local tavernas etc. The Villa Amanti is located in the middle of the village with an outstanding view of the olive groves and the sea. It is a classic northern greek villa, restored to modern standards with a perfect sense of balance between old charm and modern convenience. All bedrooms are lovely furnished and are fully equipped with top notch en suite bathrooms and up to date air conditioning systems. The kitchen and living room have a distinct greek charm to them, at the same time meeting all the demands of a modern day family. The pearl of the house is the garden - there are just so many fantastic places to enjoy the view, a good book, a meal or just the company of friends and family. Another thing that was special with Villa Amanti was that the owners, Antigoni and Amalia were the perfect hosts, you could ask them anything and they would always try to help out (and always succeeded). The cleaning service was also perfect and left no complaints whatsoever. We would definately recommend a stay at Villa Amanti. We were there for a month and it was, for us, the perfect base for travelling around and discovering Pelion and other parts of northern Greece.

Had a wonderful time. More than enough kid's stuff to keep four kids busy for four full days. Very fun playground with a view. Antigoni et al also helped us by fetching our passports, which I had left in our Athens hotel room, and taking them to the airport for us to pick up. They were also very responsive to our other requests. Rooms and outside of house are every bit as lovely as they look in the photos. The village is not difficult to get to but still feels secluded. The highlight of the trip was the train ride to Milies. Not to miss.

We spent an Easter weekend at Villa Amanti with three children and three adults. Antigoni and Amalia provided us with a wonderfully warm welcome and took care of us with a great sense of hospitality throughout our stay. This will not be our last stay in Villa Amanti! The villa itself is located in a small, quiet village, with a restaurant a few meters away. It is spacious, beautifully kept and furnished with great taste, and was absolutely immaculate on arrival. Amalia even organized food stocks for our first day (a bank holiday), incl. coffee, jams, bread, milk etc.. We could not have wished for a warmer welcome. Villa Amanti has great rooms inside - our kids loved the bunk beds, toys etc., we loved the sitting area and fire place - and more than enough space outside, incl. a separate space with football area, swings etc. for the children. More than anything, though, it is a great base for exploration of wonderful Pilion, incl. the railway, the mountain villages and the many beaches. A recommendation for anyone who wants to discover this beautiful area.

This is quite simply the nicest place we have ever rented. We are a group of four adults & four children, ages between five and ten, and we were made to feel at home more than I've ever experienced anywhere else. Not only is the house decorated to a really high standard, with beautiful rooms for the adults as well as a kids' room for the little ones and a second kids room for the slightly older little ones, we arrived to a larder full of jam, honey, herbs, spices and a two liter bottle of Ouzo. What more could we want?
Indoors, there's everything from satelite TV, WiFi and a DVD player (with USB port if you bring your own movies) to a PS2 for the kids. The living area is perfect for hanging out in the evenings with comfy sofas and a fireplace. The kitchen is a bit small but everything's there, including a dishwasher, and we managed to cook for our group of eight just fine.
Outside there is an outdoor BBQ, lots of seating space (more room to hang out in the evenings), a very comfortable hammock (mind you there's no such thing as an uncomfortable hammock), a separate play area for kids (which my son played football in almost every day) and a spill-over area from where to collect my son's footballs when they went over the fence.
Yes, the hosts are supernice as are the neighbours and everyone else in the village. There are two nice tavernas within walking distance and beaches a short drive (or long walk) away. If ever we're back in this area we will most certainly stay here again.
One final word: when we were looking around for places I was suspicious at the overwhelmingly positive tone of all of the reviews - I thought it was too good to be true. But it's true - Villa Amanti really is this good (and if you read my other reviews you'll see that I can be very grumpy about places).Add Description here

We are a group of 11 people (3 families with childern). The house was far better than what we saw advertised on the Internet site. Great, quiet location with excellent view and parking space just outside the house, 10-30 mins drive from the more touristic areas. All rooms have their personal touch that makes you feel at home. You don't need to bring anything from home because it has everything from hair dryer, washing machine to wine, homemade bread, spaghetti sauce, jam and lots of delicacies.

The best part of the house was the children's bedroom with the bunk beds (which easily accommodated 5 children of 7-16 yrs.). The room offered entertainment for all tastes and ages: T.V., PlayStation and PS games, drawing sets with pencils, board games and books (even for the grown-ups), puzzles, DVD player.

Thanks "Villa Amanti" (and Owners)!!!

The villa is located in a beautiful village not far from Volos and in a walking distance from a secluded charming beach. The house is equipped with whatever you need to make your stay comfortable and easy. It is very well organized, clean and has both indoor and especially outdoor spaces. The view from the house and its balconies is great. It is easy to get from the house to the western beaches of Pillon and to cross to the other side of the penisula. The owners of the house were extremely helpful and their recomendations arranged in a book were great. we will be happy to return to Villa Amanti in our next vacation.....

It all began when we talked to Amalia and Antigoni by mail telling them that we are going to be with 2 kids - a baby 6 month old and a 3 years old girl. As an answer they told us they will arrange games and a pool for our older one, and a bed and a stroller for the baby. Then we asked them if they know something about purchasing a local SIM, so they went and bought it for us and sent it to the car rental company so we would have it as we arrive. It went on like this - more than amazing !!! We finally came to the house in Pelion and discovered an amazing house, with a beautiful view. It was accessorized with all the goods you could imagine. They bought us a new bed just for our baby. the house was filled with games, it had oils, vinegar, many herbs, jams, beer, wine - as if they were expecting theirs best friends to come. There is also a big playground for the kids in the garden. When we met then in person we fell in love. An amazing, happy, loving people. They recommended us of plenty of good things to do in the area and we even went for dinner and drinks together. We will go back for sure !!!!!!

Do yourself a favor and stay here if you are looking for a 5 star vacation with absolutely no drama and pitfalls whatsoever. What can i say about this house? Well plenty and all of it good. If I tell you too much then you will not be as surprised when you get there. The house was clean and comfortable with a gorgeous sea view from the yard. Very nice location, very good relax, excellent trekking path , excellent beach and bays nearby. Highly recommended. The place is wonderful !!

This is a remarkable Villa able to host 10 persons. There are 2 double bedrooms, 1 twin bedroom and 1 for children (we put 4 children there, quite comfortably). The Villa is situated up in the mountain with marvelous views to the sea. It is fully (really fully) equipped: a perfect kitchen with all amenities you can think of; a giant BBQ stand outside; a large eating table; a large and cosy living room; and even sony playstation for the kids. But above all were the hospitality and help we got (promptly and whenever needed) from the owners Antigoni and her sister Amalia. We sent them SMS and emails and they replied promptly, always trying to give us the full answers and information: its started before we got to the Villa (with ideas were to stop on the way from Athens), and continued all along our stay; Where we could find fresh fish for dinner, where we could eat out; what can we do in order to change the settings of the HD TV etc. In the Villa we found an alaborate booklet with ALL needed information on how to activate all electrical appliances in the Villa, where to go, what to see, where we can rent bikes, where we can sail - simply everything one could think of. We stayed for 5 nights. Given the location of the Villa (in the midst of Pelion, closer to the northern-west part) it was quite easy to tour Pelion on both sides - to the west and to the east. So one day we went further south than Milina, and the other day we went Tzagrada and Molypotamus beach. One day we even went to Meteora (a 160km ride each way) which was not too difficult to drive and it was fascinating. So, if you look for a place in Pelion - this is certainly one of the best. If they only had a pool - this could make it paradise... So thank you Antigoni and Amalia.

We rented the Villa Amanti for eleven nights for my Greek-born wife, her elderly parents, our daughter (age 26), and various members of the (Greek) family who came and went over the course of our time there. The number staying on a given night ranged from four to ten, and, it worked very well for us. First, Antigone and Amalia were magnificent. They responded to queries and any issues swiftly and conscientiously. They have provisioned the house with everything anyone could need, and added touches (homemade preserves and a bottle of tsipouro) that went the extra mile and made us feel cared for. The notebook they provide with information about the villa, the area, and Pelion was invaluable, and Amalia's recommendations for places to eat (including the beautiful taverna two doors down) were all winners. The villa is beautifully restored and updated, cozy, and very comfortable (10 adults was a bit tight, but 6-7 were fine). The view from the terrace and bedrooms is gorgeous (as the photos show). We stayed during a very warm week at the end of July, and, as the villa is on the south slope of Pelion, it got quite warm on the terrace until the sun went behind the mountain in the afternoon. But a couple of fans (provided by Amalia) kept the common areas comfortable while the air conditioning in the bedrooms made sleeping during the day and on warm nights pleasant. (The beds, incidentally, have memory foam mattresses and the linens and towels are lovely.) Ano Gatzea is only a couple of kilometers up from the shore on the south slope of Pelion, about 25 minutes from Volos. The beaches can get crowded on the weekends, but there are plenty to choose from - for swimming the little Krypsana beach at the bottom of the road quickly became a favorite - beautiful, clear water. Nearby villages - Aghios Giorghios, Milies, and further ones - if you want to explore the east side of the mountain, Tsangarada is lovely - made for great excursions. I even took a day to drive my daughter to visit the monasteries at Meteora (a 2 1/2 hour drive each way). We had a terrific stay, and we loved the Villa Amanti and its owners.

Kalina, Bulgaria

We were very impressed with the quality of the villa and how welcoming the owners were. They had left for us so many cooking supplies and teas and detailed descriptions of everything in the area and in the villa itself. You could go there completely unprepared and get all the information you need on what there is to do in the area without even going on the internet! The outside areas were very comfortable and there was always enough space for all ten of us. The house itself is beautiful and has amazing views. Overall, it was definitely one of the best places I have stayed at would highly recommend it to anyone.
